Our client is building an asset management team to i) manage an existing equity portfolio of listed companies in the MENA region and ii) subsequently manage additional funds and portfolios on behalf of third party investors The investment process is value driven, based on fundamental analysis with a mid to long term investment horizon RESPONSIBILITIES Financial Analysis a. Be the “lead” analyst on agreed industry sectors - Follow news and developments in the MENA region and worldwide - Understand key drivers and dynamics of the industry - Co-ordinate and leverage firm-wide industry sector expertise and resources in conjunction with other teams to develop a comprehensive sector knowledge base b. Conduct deep financial analysis on selected companies - Periodic industry screenings to establish and update „watch‟ list - Collect data and prepare decision making materials on selected target companies (Valuation, fundamentals, relative performance versus peers, SWOT analysis, share price drivers, etc ...) - Conduct meetings with management and sell side analysts - Manage research providers and create financial models and related analyses (e.g., projections, sensitivity tables, etc.) - Establish investment cases (Valuation, Catalysts) c. “Challenge” other team members in their recommendations and help in their decision making process d. Generate new investment ideas Portfolio Management a. Make investment recommendations and lead the decision making process on stock selection inside the assigned sectors b. Be responsible for monitoring portfolio positions in assigned sector c. Ensure compliance with company risk management guidelines and corporate governance policies d. Anticipate material events impacting the companies in the portfolio e. Regularly update the team on the sector and the companies in the portfolio Reporting and presentations to internal and external stakeholders REQUIREMENTS - 4 to 10 years of experience as an analyst; ideally with Sell Side experience - Sector expertise - Bulge bracket education, CFA and/or MBA is preferable - Fluent in Arabic - Saudi Nationality preferred
